This is a live, interactive Acts of Science: Connected event held during Citizen Science Month. Participants will contribute to real research together, in real time, with guidance throughout the session and opportunities to hear from the project team and ask questions. No prior experience is needed. Participants will identify animals in camera-trap images from real wildlife research projects. These observations help scientists monitor biodiversity and support conservation research worldwide. In April 2026, we invite you to celebrate Earth Day with us by helping Snapshot Wisconsin monitor wildlife from anywhere in the world! In this hands-on event, you’ll explore the trail camera photos. As a participant, you will be looking at images to spot and classify the animals: what kind, how many, whether they are adults or young. Your contributions support a NASA-supported research project that tracks changes in wildlife distributions and abundances over time—critical data that informs wildlife management and conservation decisions. The shared goal of Citizen Science Month is 2.50 Million Acts of Science in one month in celebration of America’s 250th birthday. Participants are HIGHLY encouraged to bring their own devices (laptop or tablet recommended).
