Become stewards of our archaeological past and help protect sites through preservation and protection! Archaeologists frequently rely on "citizen scientists" to help study the past using the scientific method during archaeological fieldwork and laboratory analysis. "Sense" the past in a number of hands-on opportunities with professional archaeologists on real sites!
Our Citizen Scientists will learn about the different steps and participate in real archaeological fieldwork, spend time in an archaeology lab analyzing and identifying real artifacts, help interpret the stories of the past through museum exhibitions and other projects. All sites and programs are held throughout Howard County, Maryland and are sponsored by Howard County Recreation and Parks Living History and Heritage Program and the Upper Patuxent Archaeology Group.
