The ASEAN University Network on Ecological Education and Culture (AUN-EEC) invites you to the AUN-EEC Workshop on Citizen Science entitled, "Citizen Science for Addressing UN SDGs in SEA", which will be held via Zoom on 18 April (Wednesday), 9:00 AM - 12:00 NN Manila/Singapore/ Kuala Lumpur.
This workshop aims to highlight how citizen science is a tool to address the UN SDGs and to share the experience of Citizen Science projects in Southeast Asia on managing plastic waste, monitoring coral reefs, conserving water resources, and cataloguing urban biodiversity. It is the aim of the workshops for participants to identify prospective goals for which they can set-up citizen science programs in their own communities which can help in SDG implementation.
The workshop will feature a plenary with guest speakers Prof. Darlene Cavalier, Founder of SciStarter and Professor of Practice in the School for the Future of Innovation in Society, Arizona State University, and Mr. Mendel Wong, Co-founder of CitizenScience.Asia.
There will be four (4) parallel workshop sessions:
SDG 6 - Citizen Science for the Conservation of Water Ecosystems
SDG 12 - Citizen Science on Plastic Wastes
SDG 14 - Citizen Science on Coral Reefs
SDG 15 - Citizen Science on Urban Wildlife
