Biodiversity Literacy Training™ is an excellent interactive course developed by the University of Edinburgh, with the aim of giving participants an understanding of the impacts of human activity on biodiversity, and the capability to act positively to restore nature. SOS UK are excited to announce that we are licensed by the University of Edinburgh to deliver this online training to the wider HE and FE sector for the 2025-26 academic year! For spring 2026, available date options are 5th March (10am-1pm) or 14th April (1-4pm). Simply choose the date which suits you best, and, if you book for 2 or more tickets together, a group discount option is available! What the training covers: - What biodiversity is and why it is important - The causes and drivers of the biodiversity crisis - The impacts of everyday activities on biodiversity - How to restore nature at home and beyond Completing the full training involves: - An online pre-reading course (1.5 hours) prior to the training session - Attending and participating in a 3-hour interactive online workshop delivered by SOS UK - Filling in a short certification form, which is then sent by SOS UK to the University of Edinburgh to review the forms and certify learners. Due to demand, we are running several open sign-up sessions in Spring Term 2026, where individuals from different UK universities and colleges can book and pay per person. Please note - this training is primarily for the HE/FE sector in the UK (university or college), but if you are from a related education/public sector background please do drop us an email if interested or select the 'Other option'.
