Join our expedition to mobilize biodiversity data for plant science research & become a virtual citizen scientist!
Learn how to document natural history collections and contribute to botanical research from anywhere by attending this training session at the New York Botanical Garden as part of National Citizen Science Day. Attendees will learn how to use the online platforms Notes From Nature and DigiVol to interpret and transcribe critical collection information from digital images of pressed museum specimens stored in the William and Lynda Steere Herbarium.
No prior experience necessary! Laptop computers will be provided for use by all participants.
As a virtual citizen scientist, the data you collect helps researchers describe new species, monitor invasive plants, plan conservation areas, and investigate long-term environmental patterns in response to climate change. Join with a worldwide community in helping us understand the biodiversity of our planet by uncovering natural history collections!
