The Otto Bruyns Public Library of Northfield is calling all citizen scientists to contribute to a project to identify the flora and fauna of Birch Grove Park. The goal of the project is to create a record for educational purposes, community decision making regarding land use, as well as for the historical record. Using citizen scientist volunteers will allow for community engagement with natural resources, will allow the municipality to conduct a survey of sorts of the land, will encourage neighborly interaction in a safe, outdoor setting and will result in a healthier community.
