Blackchin Tilapia Monitoring in Thailand and Beyond

We are inviting people, especially those who live in Thailand and Southeast Asia to monitor the Blackchin tilapia in their fresh water rivers, brackish water, and coastal areas. The Blackchin tilapia, Sarotherodon melanotheron, is a highly invasive species, found in Thailand and is now spreading and destroying local biodiversity in the upper part of the gulf of Thailand. เราเชิญชวน เพื่อน ๆ ที่อาศัยอยู่ในประเทศไทย และ ภูมิภาคเอเซียอาคเนย์ ช่วยกันจับตา ปลาหมอ (สี) คางดำ ในพื้นที่น้ำจืด น้ำกร่อย และ น้ำเค็มบริเวณชายฝั่ง เนื่องจากปลาหมอคางดำหรือ Sarootherodon melaheron มีลักษณะที่รุกรานพรรณสัตว์ทท้องิถ่น และ ได้ทำลายความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพในพื้นที่อ่าวไทยตอนบนอยู่ขณะนี้ ล่าสุดได้มีการลุกลามเข้ามาในพื้นที่น้ำจืด และะ ได้ขยับตัวลงไปทางใต้เรื่อย ๆ
