The Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve near Playa Del Rey received years of degradation from the urban development in the surrounding area. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is currently reviewing four restoration alternatives to create a thriving coastal ecosystem in Ballona. Join us on May 14th from 10am-1pm for our Ballona Blitz the Bay BioBlitz. We’ll work hard to record the diverse plants and animals that call the wetlands home. This BioBlitz is your opportunity to learn about restoration science and show CDFW the important flora and fauna that call Ballona home.
