BugQuest aims to work with schools and community sites across Canada to collect insects using a small passive Malaise trap, with all sequencing and analysis done at our facility at our expense. Participating sites receive a biodiversity report summarizing the species found and how their site compares with others. What participation involves: - Host a low-maintenance Malaise trap (small tent-like insect trap) - Change the collection bottle once per week (a ~15-minute task) - Return samples using pre-paid shipping supplies What your site receives: - A site-specific biodiversity report and species images - Visibility as part of a national scientific initiative - All equipment, preservatives, shipping, and analysis fully covered (approx. $1,000 value)
