Calling all youth educators! Join Rachel Polmanteer, the Director Of Resource Development at the Center for Inquiry Based Learning, to learn about a special opportunity to engage young learners in citizen science. In this one hour webinar, she'll tell you all about the Paper Girls Show's Junior Scientist Maker Program (https://www.papergirls.com/scienceprogram). Come with questions for Rachel about how you could use the program to turn your learners into citizen scientists. Rachel also has a wealth of citizen science experience and is eager to share tips and tricks for citizen science in the classroom and beyond. More about the Paper Girls Show's Junior Scientist Maker Program: Inspire children ages 6+ to "think like a scientist" through engaging content, a standards-aligned curriculum, hands-on learning activities, and scientific discovery. This unique 5-part program harnesses the powers of easily accessible content to introduce the scientific method. In each part, students watch a short episode of the multi-award winning 'The Paper Girls Show' animated series and participate in hands-on, inquiry-based science activities. At the end of the program, participants are inspired to use their recently gained knowledge to embark on real-world scientific activities by using the Marine Debris Tracker ( https://scistarter.org/marine-debris-tracker) application to track pollutants in their own communities.
