Citizen Science Champions and Ambassadors both help connect people to citizen science and SciStarter using free trainings, resources, and activities provided by SciStarter. Champions focus on learning about citizen science and sharing opportunities within their own networks and communities. Ambassadors take that a step further by serving as more public-facing community leaders. Ambassadors appear in a searchable directory and may be invited to help libraries, museums, schools, and local organizations introduce citizen science to their audiences. Some Ambassadors also organize local events or presentations using ready-to-use slides, talking points, and activities from SciStarter. Because Ambassadors work directly with community organizations and the public, we require a third-party background screening. Once an Ambassador confirms their first in-person event, they'll receive a personalized name badge, SciStarter shirt, and a getting-started kit to help support their outreach efforts.
