At the Arcadia Ecohome and its Microforest, CIEDM is holding a local grassroots celebration with an action program during September 4-7 to support and take part in the following four awareness campaigns: - Trees for Wildlife Month (TFWM), observed throughout September; - National Wildlife Day (NWD), observed on September 4; - National Hummingbird Day (NHD), observed on September 5; and - California Biodiversity Day (CABD), observed on September 5-13. Our actions include the following tasks: 1. Network and profile building: CIEDM program has been registered with wildlifeday.org and California Biodiversity Day, and the Ecoohme has been added to the event maps of California Biodiversity Day and World Wildlife Day 2026. Our program is also listed in data/event platforms such as CitSci and Luma. 2. A forest management and tree maintenance action to keep up a heathy ecosystem, including removing dead branches from the prolonged heatwaves in the past two summer months. 3. A citizen science based bioblitz walk to observe, record and share data at data platforms. 4. Take advocacy action with environmental and conservation groups by sending messages or petitions to decision makers on the subject matters, and spread our actions on social media as activists. 5. A social media campaign to spread the messages of the four awareness campaigns and share what we are doing as grassroots.
