CIEDM Discovery Walk in Earth Hour 2026 @ Arcadia Home Microforest Today, Saturday 21 March 2026, as we CIEDM grassroots are celebrating World Planting Day and the UN designated International Day of Forests at the Arcadia Ecohome Microforest, we are preparing to celebrate the UN supported Earth Hour to take place on next Saturday 28 March 2026. As in past years, will turn off lights to reduce energy use and carbon emission, and engage a CIEDM bioblitz walk in the woods at the Ecohome's Microforest, a tiny but carbon-negative forest made of 500+ trees, awarded as a Certified Wildlife Habitat and Certified Pollinator Habitat, and a participating observatory for several community/citizen science projects. In the quiet walk we will smell and enjoy the floral fragrance especially around the night blooming plants, watch any nightly active nocturnal wildlife and pollinators such as moths for spotting, listen to the sounds of insects, winds and other natural elements, all as part of our participation in the SciStarter affiliated citizen science projects "GLOBE Observer: Trees“ and "Sound Around Town", and then sit at our Ecohome's "Woodhenge" made of cut tree trunks for star and moon gazing as part of our participation in the "Globe at Night", a SciStarter affiliated citizen science project that we've participated. We are sharing this Earth Hour posting along with our comment as part of actions to raise awareness of the Earth Hour and its campaign messages.
