The grinded and piled wood chips from tree trimming of trees at the Arcadia Ecohome in the end of March is planned to be spread over exposed top soils at the Ecohome's micro-forest, a Certified Wildlife Habitat, a Certified Pollinator Habitat and Certified Monarch Waystation. This mulching, or sheet-composting, project to add organic materials to the forest floor helps enhancing the floor's capacities of sinking carbon, water & heat and enriching soil biodiversity and wildlife habitability. We’ve scheduled two weeks for engaging the mulching project, kicking off on Sunday April 12 and completing by Saturday April 25. We'll share what we do online to raise public awareness as part of our grassroots activities for taking part in the celebrations of the following awareness campaigns for environment and conservation that all taken place around the same time: - National Wildlife Week, April 6-12 - LA Climate Week, April 8-15 - International Plant Appreciation Day, April 13 - National Gardening Day, April 14 - National Environmental Education Week (EE Week), April 20-24 - Earth Day, April 22 - National Arbor Day, April 24
