Become a citizen scientist at the Southeast Regional Library in Chandler. This event will introduce you to two citizen science projects: Mosquito Habitat Mapper and iNaturalist. For the Mosquito Habitat Mapper project, you will explore your neighborhood and take pictures of suitable mosquito habitats (which you will upload via an app), and then, best yet, get 'points' for decomissioning them. This helps reduce the spread of vector-born diseases near you! iNaturalist is a global record of crowdsourced plant and animal species identifications. By uploading pictures of living things on the easy iNaturalist app, you help scientists measure how biodiverse, and therefore resilient, your area is.
