NYBG's William and Lynda Steere Herbarium is partnering with leading museums and universities around the world to engage the public in citizen science! During WeDigBio! 2018, we invite your help to mobilize biodiversity data from preserved plant specimens in our herbarium to advance scientific research through digitization. Come to our training workshop and join our featured expedition to explore the botanical biodiversity of Hawai‘i!
Participants will:
- Learn to interpret scientific specimens collected on the islands of Hawai‘i.
- Learn to navigate NYBG's online tools and participate in our virtual expeditions.
- Help produce research-quality data used to document biodiversity and protect threatened ecosystems.
- Receive a private tour of the William and Lynda Steere Herbarium with a focus on Hawaiian plant exploration.
