Calling all nature lovers. Join the St. Charles Public Library and the St. Charles Park District as we collaborate in a fun challenge to see how many species we can document in our great city. While exploring your backyard or local parks take pictures of living organisms and upload them to the iNaturalist app. Share what type of plants and wildlife we have in our area. The City Nature Challenge is a global friendly competition where cities from around the world document and share their unique biodiversity. It’s fun, easy, and a great way to contribute to science by sharing information about what is around us. Everyone may participate by taking pictures and uploading observations to the iNaturalist app. All observations taken in St. Charles Township, Illinois will be included for our team. Observations must be taken from April 30 – May 3 via the iNaturalist app. Join our team, view observation boundary map, and get more details at: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2021-st-charles-il For a short video on how to use iNaturalist visit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xENz1xRu0wI The City Nature Challenge is organized by Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and California Academy of Sciences.
