Each spring the desert is transformed in what seems like a magic trick - a rainbow of annual wildflowers sprouts from the dry desert soil. This transformation comes from the “seed bank” - tiny sparks of life waiting for just the right conditions - rain, sun, and warmth - to germinate. As the climate crisis progresses, those perfect conditions are changing, arriving at different times of year, or not at all. What effect will this have on the spring wildflower season?
