This campaign focuses on improving cyclist safety in the era of autonomous vehicles (AVs). Citizen science participants will work to engage organizations, policymakers, and advocacy groups to address the key findings of a study, which highlights the need for improved communication between AVs and cyclists. By sharing empirical data and requesting specific measures, participants will play a vital role in promoting safer interactions on the road. This initiative is part of the larger interdisciplinary Civilization Efficiency Index (CEI) project, which aims to document the societal impact of research and turn scientific findings into tangible actions. Citizen scientists will contribute by launching outreach campaigns, encouraging organizations to issue press releases, public interest statements, or other acknowledgments of the research. These efforts help bridge the gap between science and real-world applications, enhancing safety and awareness for vulnerable road users. Whether you’re drafting letters, engaging with local organizations, or amplifying messages on social media, your contributions will help ensure that cyclist safety remains a priority as transportation evolves.
