April is a special month canlendared with several awareness campiaigns such as Citizen Science Month. It is also Move More Month, created and promoted by American Heat Association, which is kicked off by National Walking Day and National Walk to Work Day on April 1 and 3, respectively. We community development professionals and gardening enthusiasts at the Arcadia Ecohome is holding the subject event to enhance sidewalk walkability and safety around the Arcadia Ecohome which is few houses from a grade school and a neighborhood park. In additional to the above-mentioned awareness camapigns, the CIEDM grasroots event is also celebrating and pormoting the following national and international campaigns all related to our event: National Community Development Month, National Healthy Homes Month, Keep America Beautiful Month, National Garden Month and World Landscape Architecture Month, We are engaging cleanups and gardening works throughout the month at/around sidewalks by the Ecohome, speciafically the sidewalk garden that we created in front of the Ecohome to facilitate safe, walkable & beautiful siewalks so as to encouraging walk for health. In addition, the event is served as part of our participation in Project Sidewalk, a SciStarter related citizen science project.
