Celebrate Earth Week and Citizen Science Month with a free, family‑friendly evening at the Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve in downtown Bozeman, Montana. This guided outdoor program invites participants of all ages to learn how everyday observations contribute to real scientific research.
During the event, you’ll explore hands‑on citizen science projects focused on birds, plants, air quality, weather, and environmental change. Participants will have opportunities to try popular citizen science apps, view and interact with air‑quality sensors, and take photos at the Preserve’s Chronolog photo‑monitoring stations, which document ecological change over time. Volunteers and local experts will be available to help participants get started and answer questions.
The program will also highlight ongoing research and conservation efforts at the Indreland Audubon Preserve and share ways to stay involved in citizen science locally and beyond, including through the Montana Citizen Science Network.
Activities for young children will be available, and no prior experience is needed. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.
