This project has three main objectives: 1) to boost the availability of biodiversity data in Amazonia through crowdsourcing; 2) to evaluate patterns of data accumulation of crowd sourced data in comparison to specialists data and test if crowd sourced data enables more robust ecological and biogeographical hypothesis testing in the future and 3) to use the all the available data to model the distribution of species and habitats and to test specific hypotheses about patterns in and determinants of variation in species richness and composition across Amazonia.
