Citizen science is public engagement in real research; in other words, it's actual science that anyone can do. Join the DC Gator Club (http://dcgators.com/) for a morning of citizen science, where you'll meaningfully participate in projects that focus on natural history and empower you to transcribe the who, what, when, and where from plant specimen labels — literally unearthing the past in a digital context. Projects featured will include WeDigFLPlants (https://scistarter.org/wedigflplants) and other projects as part of WeDigBio (https://scistarter.org/wedigbio), an effort that is supported by UF. The featured projects for the event will use the Notes from Nature (https://scistarter.org/notes-from-nature) platform. Caroline Nickerson, a UF alum and a citizen science professional from SciStarter (https://SciStarter.org), will be your host, among other special Florida guests. No experience necessary to attend, and this event is family-friendly! Let's have fun and make a difference together.
