Girl Scout Tree Promise
Trees are nature’s superheroes! They help people, animals, and the planet. Trees clean our air, reduce pollution, prevent erosion, provide living space for wildlife, and so much more.
Join Girl Scouts to make the world a better place as we plant, protect, and honor trees with the Girl Scout Tree Promise. As part of the patch program, you can participate in the projects on this page to protect and honor trees as citizen scientists.
About the Program
Projects
How to Participate:
Whether it’s in a backyard, at camp, or in your community, you can join Girl Scouts from all over to plant, protect, and honor trees.
To complete the patch program:
Make the Girl Scout Tree Promise: Check out the Girl Scout Tree Promise website and Activity Guide to explore the importance of trees and make your Girl Scout Tree Promise.
Plant, protect, or honor trees: Plant a tree or complete one of the projects on this page to protect or honor trees. Everyone who plants a tree can also record their good deed through the Girl Scout Tree Promise Tracker.
Tip: Many of the citizen science projects on this page align with kits now available in many libraries across the country! Learn more about the Citizen Science Library Kits.
Unlock the Patch: Once you make the Tree Promise and complete one activity to plant, protect, or honor trees, purchase the patch in the Girl Scout Shop.
