This summer, Raleigh and Durham, NC are participating in a citizen science project that will document urban heat island effects within both cities. Join us for this special mini-seminar to hear how Dr. Amanda Martin, North Carolina's Chief Resilience Officer, thinks about extreme heat in urban areas! You'll learn more about how heat is unevenly distributed in urban areas, how some people are impacted more significantly than others, and what we can do to improve resiliency to extreme heat in our cities. You'll also learn how you can be a part of our local heat mapping project in July from local project leaders and youth from UNC’s YES-Resilience!
