This introduction to Citizen Science presentation will assure listeners that no special training or experience is required and that anyone can become a citizen scientist. Citizen scientists can make an impact in issues that they care about. Participation is easy and in many cases can be done at home. Projects are available to match a broad range of interests. Project examples will include Stall Catchers helping with Alzheimer's research, projects that focus on the sky (day or night), and projects listeners and their pets can do together. Also examples of plants and animals identified by the iNaturalist app at a local city park. There will be time for questions, and to look for citizen science projects that might interest individual attendees.
Attendees will be invited to join a nature walk 2 or 3 days after the presentation if wildflowers are in bloom after unusually dry fall and winter months.
