Kilonova catcher is a citizen science program developed by the GRANDMA Collaboration allowing any volunteered astronomer to join us in our research efforts and to share with us a common passion for the gravitational wave science and astronomy.
With this project, you will be able to participate in the optical follow-up of the Gravitational Wave events caught by the world wide network of GW detectors. The aim of these follow-up campaigns is to detect the kilonova emission emerging from the coalescence of two compact objects (mainly neutron stars) bounded in a compact binary system (BNS). Kilonova Catcher will allow you to contribute to tremendous discoveries in GW science!
If you have any telescope in your hands or a temporary access to any telescope, you are very welcome to help us on this project !
