LiMPETS (Long-term Monitoring Program and Experiential Training for Students) is a citizen science program designed to monitor the coastal ecosystems of California and help youth develop a scientific understanding of the ocean. LiMPETS monitors the biology in rocky intertidal and sandy beach ecosystems and aims to provide publicly accessible, scientifically sound, long-term data to inform marine resource management and the scientific community. The LiMPETS network provides authentic, hands-on coastal monitoring experiences that empower teachers, students and the community to conduct real science and serve as ocean stewards. LiMPETS has always operated in three regions, so if there is a way to reflect that, it would be great. Santa Barbara, San Francisco and Monterey Bay.
