Do NASA Science! Join us in this three-part virtual workshop using the GLOBE Observer mobile app to map, measure, and monitor water in your community. Join the science fun and adopt-a-pixel where you live.
This event starts with a one hour introduction to the science of mapping water from space and in your community, followed in the afternoon with an additional two hour session to teach you how to analyze the data. During the time in-between, there will be an option to go outside where you live and collect data with your smartphone or stay inside and practice using satellite imagery to monitor a location when safety is a concern. Peder Nelson, science lead for the land cover tool in NASA’s GLOBE Observer mobile app, will join the workshop and be available for questions and discussion.
All you need is a smartphone and an email address. Everyone can do this. Must be age 13 and older to participate.
