Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch connects the community with local waterways through environmental monitoring, education, and hands-on catchment care. Volunteers collect valuable data that helps inform policy and on-ground catchment management.
Join our Autumn Bug Blitz!
We’re looking for volunteers to survey macroinvertebrates (water bugs), which are excellent indicators of stream health. Your observations will help us build a robust dataset from across the region and contribute to our Catchment Health Indicator Program.
There are several ways to get involved:
- Monthly: Monitor a Waterwatch site and record waterway health data.
- Every 6 months: Help survey and identify aquatic macroinvertebrates (water bugs).
- Annually: Participate in Frogwatch or Platypus Month surveys.
Whether you’re interested in monitoring, wildlife, or simply helping protect local waterways, your contributions can make a difference.
