In this project, the aim is to evaluate monarch density at Coldwater Spring, a federally-owned park within MISS. In two patches, volunteers will walk around the patches of milkweed and examine as many plants as possible, recording whether or not monarchs are present. If monarchs are present, volunteers will identify what stage of life the monarch is at and record that as well.
We monitor every Tuesday from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the summer from June - August and the last monitoring date is August 27, 2019. We meet at the Coldwater Spring sign and parking is available at the end of the cul-de-sac on Minnehaha Park Drive S.
