NASA plans to go forward to the moon by the year 2024. This series provides hands-on STEM activities in order to explore the ideas, concepts and experiences that make mission planning, operations, exploration and sustainability on the Moon possible August 12, 2021 @ 1 pm: Leaving Earth and Orbiting the Moon on Gateway Plan and prepare for a mission to the moon as guided by NASA with activities such as building and launching a foam rocket! Plus learn what it takes to go from Earth to the Moon as an astronaut in orbit, including exercise, nutrition, and the challenges of walking in space. August 19, 2021 @ 1 pm: Landing on the Moon What could life be like on the Moon? Learn about the discovery of ice on the Moon’s South Pole and other sustainable resources that could lead to permanently crewed bases on the lunar surface.
