Many types of insects are attracted to lights at night, including moths, beetles, aquatic insects, and more. At this event we’ll set up a light and collecting sheet during the new moon, sit back, and see what visits! This is a wonderful chance to see the diversity of insects along the Truckee River, many of which stay hidden during the day. Event from 8:30 until 11:00. Make sure to dress for changing temperatures and possible mosquitoes, and bring a headlamp for heading to the car and a folding chair to relax in if you have one. All ages are welcome!
