Join us for an exciting hands-on workshop where we’ll use the power of R coding to explore the wonders of biodiversity. Together, we’ll dive into real data collected over the past four years of the LA Nature Quest (formerly LA BioBlitz Challenge) and learn how to analyze and visualize the natural world in new ways. Best of all, once you’ve learned the basics of R here, you’ll be able to apply those same skills to any dataset—from science and research to personal projects and beyond.
Limited to 25 participants, ages 12+ (basic coding experience recommended).
Please bring your own laptop (a limited number of loaner laptops will be available).
Enjoy bagels, coffee, and light snacks throughout the day.
Registration through Eventbrite is Required.
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to see nature through a whole new lens, build your coding skills, and join a community passionate about science and technology!
This workshop is part of the LA Nature Quest Program, a collaboration between LA Public Library’s Neighborhood Science Initiative, LA Sanitation & Environment’s Biodiversity Program, LA Recreation and Parks, LA Department of Water and Power, and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
