Interest meeting to give an overview of the Overbrook Environmental Education Center's community air monitoring and 'Breathe Right' project and answer any questions.
Overbrook Environment Education Center, the community-based center dedicated to environmental education, conservation, public health, and personal enrichment, is seeking volunteers to host air quality meters in their homes, offices, or organizations as part of their "Breathe Right" program. We are mainly seeking data from the following zip codes in West Philadelphia: 19139, 19151, 19131, and 19104. Volunteers will receive a Purple Air quality monitor to be kept at their homes through approximately the summer of 2025, and will have constant access to all data collected. Air monitors are about the size of a smoke detector and require access to an outlet and Wi-Fi. Participation in this project requires minimal maintenance. This project is a great opportunity to take part in citizen science, learn about our environmental health and justice, inform policy, and more.
