April 25 is National DNA Day! 2018 is a special anniversary, celebrating 15 years since the completion of the Human Genome Project. To commemorate this milestone, the National Human Genome Research Institute and its partners are launching the '15 for 15' Celebration - counting down 15 ways genomics is changing our world! This year, to encourage participation in National DNA Day and Citizen Science Day, we are collaborating with Jérôme Waldispühl, Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science McGill University to encourage a month-long Citizen Science Games for DNA Day Challenge. Play daily, rack up points, and contribute to genomics and biomedical research! Featured games include Phylo (see http://phylo.cs.mcgill.ca) where players help align DNA sequences to develop better algorithms and Colony B (see http://www.colonyb.com) where you identify clusters of bacteria that are important for human health.
