Totality for the August 12, 2026 eclipse is located at select regions within Iceland and Spain. The goals are to collect scientific data that will help refine eclipse shadow band analysis. - Explore how altitude and proximity to the eclipse centerline effects eclipse shadow band observations. - Theory suggests shadow bands will rotate if the observer is positioned well off from the centerline location, but still located within totality area. More experimental data is needed. - Theory suggests shadow band frequency and power will diminish at higher altitudes. More experimental data is needed.
