Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve is a world-famous biological field station located in Minnesota, USA. This reserve is within the meeting point of the three largest biomes of North America — tallgrass prairie, eastern deciduous forest and boreal coniferous forest — and is consequently filled with a diverse array of species, and a popular workplace for world-renowned ecosystem scientists. To better understand how animals like wolves, foxes, coyotes, deer, turkeys, and more might affect these ecosystems, researchers have deployed a vast network of motion-triggered trail cameras across the Cedar Creek property, providing a peek into the secret lives of the animal community. Your assistance going through these online images and identifying species, recording behavior and sharing your observations helps scientists to understand what’s happening on this landscape. Join us on Zoom, Tuesday August 15 at 2pm ET as the project scientist walks you through the steps to participate from anywhere.
New events will be added as they are confirmed so we recommend that you bookmark this link https://scistarter.org/go/LIVE and check back regularly to review and register for upcoming LIVE events!
SciStarter LIVE is a weekly event where you can join us on Zoom or watch the live stream on SciStarter’s Facebook page as we work through a citizen science project together. We’ll demonstrate the project and answer your questions. If you register, we will email you a YouTube link to the recording.
Before the event, you’re invited to sign up for a SciStarter account at https://scistarter.org/login if you haven't already (optional) and have a look at the featured project (https://scistarter.org/cedar-creek-eyes-on-the-wild-1).
