This project is designed to allow divers to document photographically encounters they may have with sharks anywhere off the coast of California. It is separate from our Sevengill Shark ID Project, which is exclusively for that particular species of shark.
Snorkelers can photograph Leopard sharks in very shallow water at La Jolla Shores every summer. They are harmless to humans. Other species of sharks are more pelagic and may require SCUBA training to photograph.
