This is a public utility and community health initiative coordinated by independent family scientists (Coletivo CFI). It expands our successful local health campaign to a national scale. The Giant African Snail (Lissachatina fulica) is an invasive exotic species causing severe damage to biodiversity, local agriculture, and public health, acting as a biological vector for illnesses like eosinophilic meningitis. To participate, look for the invasive snail anywhere in Brazil. Take a clear photo safely and never touch the animal without protective gloves. Upload the photo to this project via the iNaturalist app. Your active contribution helps health surveillance teams track and control this pest nationwide.
