Stream monitoring trainings are for anyone interested in participating in stream monitoring. There is little or no cost for most of the trainings, but we do ask that you contact the local planner and pre-register so that they have an idea of who and how many to expect.
At these trainings you learn to monitor temperature, streamflow, biotic index, habitat, dissolved oxygen, and transparency using Water Action Volunteers methods. Some trainings may only cover streamflow monitoring and/or macroinvertebrate monitoring. This is to encourage more people to monitor these aspects of stream health and keep an eye out for some key aquatic invasive species.
