Why are we doing this? As well as being beautiful and enjoyable to watch, birds are a great indicator of the health of the environment. We are interested in documenting the number and distribution of bird species in the area, and also monitoring any changes over time.   Where will we do this? At least 50 sites will be chosen to cover as many different types of habitat as possible.  (See map for area) Sites can be on private and public land, your own property, grassland, wetlands, bush, paddocks...more.  How long will it go for? To determine baseline data we aim to run the project for a minimum of 2 years (that’s 8 visits), with a plan to continue on into the future with those who are keen.
