FrogWatch USA is a citizen science project that invites participants to learn about local wetlands and identify frogs and toads by their calls. Aszya Summers, Curator of Animal Care and Conservation Education and Paul Mueller, Animal Care Specialist at the Racine Zoo will teach us via Zoom how to identify species by their calls, locate and register a wetland site, and submit observations. Join us for our fourth year of monitoring frog populations at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, or learn how you can monitor frogs in your own neighborhood. You don’t need to be an amphibian expert to participate – all you need is an interest in frogs and toads and a desire to learn.
Registered participants will receive a link to the Zoom meeting a couple of hours before the program.
Free to all, but registration required. Registration closes at noon on March 10.
