Register for an online event to learn how anyone can contribute to science through "citizen science!" Learn how your smartphone can measure pollution, your selfies can save a stream and how to use a free app that can identify every plant and animal in the country-- as long you're willing to go outside and take a picture of it (for science)! We'll explore SciStarter, the world's largest online database of citizen science projects and learn how researchers right here at NC State are using the platform to help their research. Then we'll all get to participate in a real citizen science project together. SciStarter corporate partners such as Verizon, SAS, RTI, Burns & McDonnell, York Properties and French West Vaughn employees are particularly encouraged to attend, as we will be highlighting how their new citizen science "portals" allows them to volunteer for a project anytime, anywhere. But anyone is welcome to attend this workshop!
