The Natural History Museum is holding two transcription days on 19 and 20 October as part of the WeDigBio worldwide drive to help digitise natural history collections. We will have volunteers on site, and we will be asking for global digital volunteers to log into our projects and transcribe data from our specimen labels at www.nhm.ac.uk/mfm . We are on a mission to digitise the 80 million specimens in the Museum’s collection, and transcription (capturing the data on our labels) is an essential part of this process. We need you to read the labels and type up information such as dates and places, making it searchable and usable for scientists around the world. Collections data is released freely and openly on the Museum’s Data Portal.
