This two-part citizen science program includes a library talk and an optional guided field experience focused on bluebirds and community-based bird monitoring.
The library talk explores bluebird behavior, nesting cycles, and how citizen scientists collect and share data that supports bird research and conservation. Participants will be introduced to tools such as eBird, iNaturalist, and NestWatch with guidance from the Hoy Audubon Society.
An optional guided field experience will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Hawthorne Hollow Nature Sanctuary. During the walk, Audubon leaders will observe and monitor bluebird nest boxes while collecting data. Participants may attend the talk, the walk, or both.
