In partnership with NJDEP, the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve helps communities better understand and communicate flood risks and impacts through MyCoast: New Jersey. This platform now offers state, regional, and national tools for users to submit community reports. By integrating tide, weather, and location data, MyCoast can help inform coastal decision-makers, practitioners, business owners, and residents by tracking coastal change and hazards in order to support communities and the places they love. See how community members can collect data using the MyCoast app for Long Beach Island and surrounding areas. Amanda Archer has served as the Training & Engagement Coordinator at the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve since 2022. Her work aims to foster resilience in New Jersey by developing innovative tools and resources, providing learning opportunities for community leaders and organizations, facilitating collaboration among sectors, and advancing nature-based strategies throughout the watershed and estuary. She is a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner in Training and serves as a Managing Director for the New Jersey Coastal Resilience Collaborative. P.S.
