Description |
A citizen science database for naturalists, students, scientists, indigenous, tourists and snorkelers to record marine life at Ellison Reef, located offshore Mission Beach. This will allow us to increase knowledge and document changes over time. Our objective is to collaborate with the Great Barrier Reef community to celebrate the past and plan for the future. One action will be to repeat the historical surveys of fish, coral and invertebrates of Ellison Reef that were completed in 1967. We propose a dedicated effort between Sept-Nov 2025 to celebrate 60 year for the Australian marine Conservation Foundation and 50 years since the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Legislation.
