On October 27th, 2024, there will be a dynamic event in Alachua County that merges climate action, environmental justice, and civic engagement through the CLEO Speakers Network (CSN).
The event will take place at Pascal's Coffeehouse in Gainesville from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the intersection of critical issues relating to climate change and learn how to take meaningful action in their communities.
Organized by Ellen Siegel from the CLEO Institute, in partnership with Caroline Nickerson from SciStarter and Florida Community Innovation, this program aims to empower individuals through the CLEO Climate Speaker Training.
Caroline, who is also a PhD candidate at the University of Florida, will lead the participants in a hands-on citizen science project during the event, offering practical experience in contributing to climate and environmental research.
Speakers also include Desmon Duncan Walker, District I Commissioner, City of Gainesville and Mary Alford, Chair - District I, Alachua County Commission.
