We CIEDM grassroots held a local event at Arcadia Ecohome to take part in the national & global celebrations of the Desertification and Drought Day (DDD) and Pollinator Week 2025. As registered with the Pollinator Partnership (PP), the event included: 1. A morning cleanup of the Ecohome's yards to maintain the pollinator friendly features as a Certified Pollinator Habitat, Certified Monarch Waystation, and PP Certified Bee-Friendly Farm; 2. An afternoon meetup with 3 invited guests led by Professor N.W. Lin of the National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan, to chat about the significances of the awareness campaigns for protection of natural ecosystems and pollinator habitats; 3. A closeup observational tour of a number of blooming plants and pollinators attracted by them in the Ecohome's yards as part of our citizen science engagements; and 4. A light-up of yellow lights mounted at the building front facades of the Ecohome to show support to pollinators.
